Nick
Growing up in the north of England close to some of the legendary roads of the RAC Rally of Great Britain exposed Nick to the awesome motorsport of Rallying.
After starting driving at 17 he would go out onto the tracks of North Yorkshire trying to emulate his heroes. However, it was not until moving to Southern California in 1996 that he could start to pursue stage rallying as a hobby. In 1998 he hooked up with a local driver, Pete Morris, himself a fellow Brit, and they campaigned a 1973 Toyota Corolla, with Nick as co-driver learning the ropes. The bug to drive was greater, so Nick bought a 1976 Corolla in 1999 and Pete returned the favor, co-driving for Nick.
A successful year saw the pair clinch the Stock Class Championship in the California Rally Series, with Nick also garnering Rookie of the Year.
Nick had a new co-driver in Josh Armbruster for 2000 and repeated the Stock Class Championship title. In the same year Nick also co-drove for Jonathan Ryther in a Knight Motorsports Subaru Impreza, although new car glitches overshadowed the potential of this high horsepower Open class car.
After the stock class successes Nick felt ready to move to the next level and purchased a Subaru Impreza, to be built to the Rally America and NASA Rallysport Open Class rules. After conquering the Stock Class it was time to vie for the overall win.
The new car debuted in 2008 and the team ran 4 rallies ironing out problems and getting the car dialed in while also learning the power and technique of AWD. After taking a year away in 09 Nick returns with RJ Olchawa in the co-driver’s seat aiming for a successful year.
