The Car

The team campaigns a 1995 Subaru Impreza, upgraded with a 2002 drivetrain. This 2 liter turbo, 4 cylinder engine paired with an all-wheel-drive system produces a formidable race machine that has been proven on the World Rally Championship for several years.

The car has been built by Streetwise Motorsports to the Rally America and NASA Rallysport Open Class regulations which allows for many modifications, and no corners have been cut. With power in the region of 200hp (down from the stock 227hp due to rally rules mandating a 34mm turbo restrictor) the car features a straight-cut dog change gearbox for reliability and faster shifting, saving precious seconds. The car has a water-sprayed intercooler, uprated rally center and front differentials providing a complete package that has sub 5 second 0-60mph times and a top speed of over 140mph!

Along with this the car features a fully integrated chrom-moly rollcage by Dave Turner Motorsports, extra chassis strengthening and seam welding, Kevlar race seats and 6 point restraint belts to keep the occupants safe in the racing environment. With an intercom between the driver and co-driver, and an accurate rally odometer, the communication is key to fast stage times and successful events.
